CP Hakeem Odumosu Swift Action During Oshodi Chaos

There was pandemonium today in Lagos, within Oshodi axis. Traders and passerby fled for safety as security men were seen assaulting people and damaging properties, especially commercial vehicles as alleged by eyewitness report. 


The story making rounds has it that an Air Force personnel was killed within the axis yesterday. So the security men came today to avenge the death of their colleague.


The Lagos police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, has released statement on the Oshodi crisis. Though the statement did not say for sure the cause of the crisis, “We are aware of the conflict that occurred at Capa Park/Mosafejo Oshodi Lagos today Thursday, May 20, 2021 around 7.am. Normalcy has since been restored to the area."


The matter is under investigation and the official cause yet ascertained until police concludes its investigation. 


Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the area as men of Nigerian Police arrived the scene as ordered by Lagos CP H. Odumosu. The police urged Lagosians to go about their lawful businesses in the area and in the state in general.


“No cause for alarm. The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered that intensive patrol be emplaced in the area,” Adejobi said

Barricaded Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Opened

The barricaded Sagamu end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been opened for commuters. The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Adedamola Kuti told journalists during the opening on Tuesday that the barricaded section was opened to ease traffic during the festive period. He said, "the gridlock experienced on the road necessitated the removal of the barricades." He also noted that work will resume on the road as quickly as possible in January so the contractors could maximise the window offered by the dry season.
