2019 APPROPRIATION BILL: Pres. Buhari May Present Bill Next Week

President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the NASS to grant him Wednesday 19, Dec 2019 to present the 2019 appropriation bill to a joint session of the National Assembly.
The letter which was read on the floor of the House on Thursday by the speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
Reads “May I crave the kind indulgence of the House of Representatives to grant me the slot of 11 hours on Wednesday, 19th December 2018 to formally present the 2019 appropriation bill in a joint session and lay before the NASS the 2019 budget proposal.
Please accept, Mr Speaker the assurances of my highest regards as I look forward to addressing the joint session,” President Buhari said in the letter.
As at the time of this write up, the House is still deliberating over the letter.

Barricaded Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Opened

The barricaded Sagamu end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been opened for commuters. The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Adedamola Kuti told journalists during the opening on Tuesday that the barricaded section was opened to ease traffic during the festive period. He said, "the gridlock experienced on the road necessitated the removal of the barricades." He also noted that work will resume on the road as quickly as possible in January so the contractors could maximise the window offered by the dry season.
