ATIKU: My Youth Minister Will Be Less Than 30Yrs
The
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, on Monday said his administration will focus on education, job creation, and youth empowerment.
The former vice president made this declaration on Monday during a town hall meeting he had with youths in Lagos. He promised that 40 per cent of the
people in his government would be youths while his Minister of Youth
would be less than 30 years.
Abubakar said, “I believe in creating jobs and I am creating jobs for the youth." “Our President said the economy is in
bad shape and he told the governors it is going to be worse." Is this the
kind of government that you want to return to power?
He further stated, “Do you know that in this government,
there is no single economist? So, they don’t know how to manage the
economy. Our lives, whether young or old, depend on the economy.
“We must invest seriously in education to be able to produce youths that will be beneficial to themselves and the country.”
He said, I am in private sector and I understand how it works. The private needs support and incentive, and that his government would do, creating an enabling environment for
them to thrive in order to create more jobs.
Peter Obi, while delivering his speech said, it is important for the Federal Government to invest more in education.
“I want Nigerian youths to listen; do
not vote Buhari again. They are giving you N10,000 today, I don’t know
anywhere in the world where they give people money in the market the way
they are doing now. This is vote-buying,” Obi said.
