Rt. Reverend Clement Ekpeye Abducted By Gunmen

Rivers state police through its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni have confirmed the abduction of the Anglican Bishop Ahoada Dioceses, and has said the state police is on top of issue.

The Anglican Bishop Rt. Reverend Clement Ekpeye, was abducted from his home at the Bishop’s Court located on Odiemerenyi road in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, around 8:30pm on Tuesday by unknown gunmen. 

The Clerical Synod Secretary of the Diocese of Ahoada, who condemned the development, described it as shocking, have called for prayers for the safety of the bishop. 

He also made an appeal to the kidnappers of Reverend Ekpeye to release him unconditionally.

Barricaded Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Opened

The barricaded Sagamu end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has been opened for commuters. The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Mr Adedamola Kuti told journalists during the opening on Tuesday that the barricaded section was opened to ease traffic during the festive period. He said, "the gridlock experienced on the road necessitated the removal of the barricades." He also noted that work will resume on the road as quickly as possible in January so the contractors could maximise the window offered by the dry season.
